VRHP and VRMA Merger Frequently Asked Questions

As VRHP and VRMA merge to better serve their members, there are bound to be some questions. Below are selected questions and answers. In the coming days and weeks more information will be made available to you. In the meantime if you have additional questions, please ask. We are happy to answer your specific questions. 


  • General
    • Will the name change?
      • No, VRHP will still be known as the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals. 
    • What will happen to the VRHP Board?
      • The VRHP board will become the VRHP Governing Council, they direct the VRHP  executive director and the content of VRHP. One of the members of the governing council will site on the VRMA board.
  • Membership
    • What will happen to my membership in VRHP? 
      • Your VRHP membership will transfer seamlessly to VRMA. VRMA will be responsible for membership management and communication.
    • How do I renew my membership?
      • VRMA will be sending out renewals in early November with instructions on how to pay your 2020 membership dues. 
    • Will the cost of membership go up? 
      • The cost of membership is not going up. Currently the annual cost of membership is $350. If you are a VRMA member the cost of VRHP membership is $300 (a reduction of $50).
  • Webinars, Seminars, and Conferences
    • What will happen to the one day housekeeping seminars?
      • The one day housekeeping seminars will be continue.
    • Will the monthly webinars, will they continue?
      • Yes, the monthly webinars will continue. They will managed by VRMA and put on by VRHP.
    • Will there be a national conference each year? 
      • The national conference will be held each as apart of the VRMA International conference. There will continue to be separate tracks that address housekeeping, maintenance, and laundry. 
  • Awards
    • What will happen to Executive Housekeeper Award? 
      • 2019 is the last year this award will given.
    • Will the Stewart Couch Award continue?
      • Yes, it will. Stewart’s impact can be still felt today will continue to be awarded every three years to a company owner. 
    • Will the VRHP Leadership Award continue? 
      • Going forward this award will not continue.
  • Certifications
    • What will happen to the housekeeper and inspector certifications?
      • They will continue to be earned and awarded. Going forward not only will they be  offered at the one day seminars, they are available online through the VRMA certification portal.
    • Will the Certified Vacation Rental Executive Housekeeper certification continue?
      • Yes, it will. The testing will take place at VRHP one seminars and will eventually be available online.
  • VRHP Resources
    • Where will I be able to access VRHP content? 
      • In addition to the the VRHP website you find VRHP content on VRMA website, in VRMA arrival, and other industry publications.
    • What will happen to the VRHP YouTube channel?
      • The VRHP YouTube channel will continue with no changes.
    • Will VRHP still be able to present at other industry conferences? 
      • Yes, VRHP will still be presenting at industry conferences throughout the year.
    • What will happen to all the content VHRP has on their website?
      • All the webinars, conference videos, and the library will be available.
